An Introduction
Hi everyone!
My name is Owen and I attend Eastern Michigan University. I am in my third year and majoring in Public Relations. Initially, this blog was suppose to take on a more serious tone, but ultimately I decided to tone it down to become a more casual blog. With this first post I intend to set out who I am, what my interests are, and what each week's post will be generally be about.
Everyday, we do things because either we like to, or we have to. For the most part, I will be talking about things I like to do. It felt quite strange to actually think about and put into perspective "what do I do everyday and do I like it?" With that being said there are a few things everyday I do because I enjoy it. Video games (we'll get more specific later), music (K-Pop is what I actively follow) and RuPaul's Drag Race. Of course, there is more to me than just these three interests, but in hindsight these are what I spend enjoying in my free time.
I love video games. It is impossible to picture my life without them. Being an only child, I am an expert on entertaining myself (not to brag). Growing up, video games were the perfect way to do just that. Being such a huge influence and passion for me, I would love to be able to work at any of the companies whose games I have played. Some series I am passionate about are Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Elder Scrolls, and Kingdom Hearts. There are many more, but these four are the main ones that I just find myself coming back to and anticipating each and everyone of their new releases. I wish I could post a picture but in 2019, all my games are digital so I have nothing physical to show!
K-Pop. Yeah it's a little cringey and polarizing. I'm not the most vocal about my love and dedication to it but my oh my do I love it. The visuals? Amazing. The music? So addictive. I'm not so much a fan of boy groups but I adore girl groups. Girls' Generation, Twice, Blackpink, Red Velvet, AOA, Cherry Bullet, LOONA and so many more. These groups have gorgeous members, wonderful songs, and the best choreography. I just love it!

Finally, I am a huge fan of Drag Race. I believe it is a great (reality) show and is so inspiring. I'm almost envious of the teens who get to grow up today and have such a great show to watch LGBT people. I wish there was a show when I was younger where there was such a great representation of LGBT people. But better soon then never is what I say. As a young gay man in his 20's, it is awesome to watch a show where I can see other LGBT people be themselves. It's so inspiring and I don't think I can stress that enough.
