Owen's Thoughts

Hey! Time to do a throwback.  Kirby Super Star  is one of my favorite games... EVER. Definitely right up there with Pokemon Diamond & Pearl  (although Platinum  is the better overall game) and  ESIV: Oblivion.  I have a lot of memories with this game, and all good memories. What holds this game up for me is that when playing it 10 years later, I still get that excited feeling I had when I first played as a kid. Now before I do my best attempt at a review, I need to just give my brief history playing it. My cousin and I would always play it at my grandpa's house during the summer and winter breaks growing up. Since it was a two player game, I would always play Kirby and she would always play the "helper." We would venture through the different levels, enjoy the music, use our little growing brain to figure out the (relatively) simple puzzles. It was a lot of fun. Nintendo remade it for DS with just slightly upgraded graphics ...

So two weeks ago I posted "What I'm Excited for in 2019 (Part 1)," and it basically turned into me raving about the new Animal Crossing game hopefully  coming out this year. Then last week I was stressed and just had to vent in a blog post. This week, I am going to continue to try writing about my hopes for 2019. To start off, I just want to recap that the the RuPaul's   Drag Race All Stars  season 4 finale aired on Friday. Now, I have no self control so I was all over the r/SpoiledDragRace subreddit. The finale actually turned out to be shocking because all the tea said that * SPOILERS* they did not film a double crowning. But it turns out... they kinda did? It was this really sloppy iMovie disaster edit that just combined the two solo wins of Trinity and Monet together. I did not like it. Still unsure if they planned a solo win but then after backlash about how all the All Stars  winners are white, they decided to do a double crowning so finally a queen of color...

Ok so, I would have loved to do a regular blog, but I just can't. I am not in a good place right now to write about whatever interests me. I'm stressed, I can't think, and I'm dreading my next assignments for a few classes. Next week, there are a couple topics I can write about so I'm excited for that but this week has been rough. There is nothing I really want to talk about except my thoughts about this semester so far. The highs and the lows of course. Shall we get started? I do not want this to come across as ranty but who knows where I will go in this post. To start off, at the time of writing this I'm just in an anxious but also like an "over it" mood. I have to take a journalism class as part of the PR major. I understand journalism and PR are different but my anxiety is through the roof when it comes to that journalism class. We are already one month into 2019! Albeit, it was a rather easy first month. Eastern started a week after New Years' instead of the week of. Then we had this polar vortex thing going on which cause Monday, Wednesday and Thursday classes to be cancelled at the end of the month. It has been an underwhelming semester so far (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but hopefully this year doesn't keep that same theme.  Anyway for this blog I want to talk about what I am excited for in 2019 regarding my interests and what I follow. This week I want to talk about Animal Crossing (AC). For my future self, I think I will write down my thoughts, hopes, and expectations and hopefully I will revisit them at the end of the year and see how they held up! The biggest release I'm excited for this year is Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch. While there is no specific release date, it is coming out in 2019!
