What I'm Excited for in 2019 (Part 2)

So two weeks ago I posted "What I'm Excited for in 2019 (Part 1)," and it basically turned into me raving about the new Animal Crossing game hopefully coming out this year. Then last week I was stressed and just had to vent in a blog post. This week, I am going to continue to try writing about my hopes for 2019.

To start off, I just want to recap that the the RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 4 finale aired on Friday. Now, I have no self control so I was all over the r/SpoiledDragRace subreddit. The finale actually turned out to be shocking because all the tea said that *SPOILERS* they did not film a double crowning. But it turns out... they kinda did? It was this really sloppy iMovie disaster edit that just combined the two solo wins of Trinity and Monet together. I did not like it. Still unsure if they planned a solo win but then after backlash about how all the All Stars winners are white, they decided to do a double crowning so finally a queen of color would be in the "hall of fame." Monique was robbed and Shea/Nina/Asia are going to win All Stars 5 anyway so life goes on it's a reality competition show. And as Naomi Small said, "life's not fair."

Their are two games I am excited for in 2019. One there is a lot of information out and the other there is not. The first is the third expansion for Square Enix's massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV)! It's called Shadowbringers and it releases July 2nd (early access starting June 28th). This game really deserves its own post for how much I play it, but I will just focus on the expansion coming out this summer. It's really exciting, getting new content in the game. The complaints with the game currently and with the last expansion is that it gets kind of repetitive. Square Enix has tried different things to try to keep it new (Eureka, Blue Mage, Ultimate raids) but only some of them have been received well. Unfortunately, it is impossible to please the community. I think the complaints are valid with the repetitive stale content, I just don't know the be-all end-all solution.

The setting for the expansion seems to be very Final Fantasy 12 inspired, which is fascinating how they are making the FFXII universe blend/merge into the FFXIV one. It's really interesting and I am really looking forward to it. At this current point, I think it will be very successful and looked at better than the last/current expansion (Stormblood) but will still not be better than the first expansion (Heavensward). I like Stormblood better than Heavensward but don't tell the fans I said that!

I play FFXIV way too much, I don't know if it's possible to describe why I like the game. I think it is a good future blog topic, especially since Square Enix is my favorite game company. Like I've been saying, this all deserves it's own blog post!
