Semester is Almost Over...

So this week, I'm somewhat at a loss on what to write about. I know I did a similar post where I rehashed what I'm excited for this year and expectations but I figure now is a good time because the semester is nearing an end and it is going to come fast! This semester I took a big risk by taking a Japanese class. I'm really proud of my decision and I will probably go into more detail once the semester is over where I can give my full thoughts. It is not an easy class and I doubt myself sometimes but I always end up proving myself wrong. The class is three days a week from 5:30 to 7:00 so I was initially skeptical because I've never had an evening class and one that lasted that long. I thought it would be harder but my sensei is awesome and really helpful. I am definitely considering continuing to study it because I need to take some extra classes to fill my credit hours up. In my eyes, there is nothing about taking the classes. It is so cool to learn another languag...

My Trip to Google Ann Arbor

Image
Google Ann Arbor hosted a tour for EMU students this last Friday, March 8th. It was led by three EMU alumnis, Eric Wortman, Angelina Miller and Ehab Shalabi. They were awesome and super friendly. With this post, I want to summarize my visit there and give some thoughts on the Google experience. First off, it was so visually pleasing there. They had a cafe that had amazing smelling food. Everything was so organized, clean, modern. I do not have a photo that could describe what the environment was like. One of the first things you say walking in was purple balloons in honor of International Women's Day which was awesome. There was less than the expected 60 students there, as there was a lot of seats open. From 9:30 till 11 there short 15-30 minute spotlights where different employees came and spoke to us about the different aspects of Google. Everyone who spoke was friendly and realistic about what it takes to get a job at Google. Lauren Bennett, who does the recruiting, wa...

Are we excited!!! What a big moment for Nintendo, Game Freak and Pokemon fans. This has been a long time coming, and has certainly lived up to the hype. The game looks gorgeous and we got some amazing starter Pokemon. This will be the prettiest Pokemon game when it comes out and it's gonna be big. The first main series Pokemon game on a console and in HD? Pokemon Sword and Shield have a lot to live up to and I have 120% confidence that Nintendo and Game Freak will deliver. Let's dive in. Starters. So cute. After browsing the internet for my all my years I am glad to find people who share the same passionate opinions about starters in this game. Please, please, please Game Freak, make Scorbunny's final evolution not a total let down. I'm looking at you every fire starter after Blaziken. Sobble and Grookey are absolutely adorable too and I am excited to see how their final evolution will look. From what else was in the trailer, the game looks beau...
