April Fools! My Last Post?

Image
Hi diary! I'm going to say diary because I don't know that anyone reads this! This is probably going to be my last post because our "blogging" assignment is due tomorrow. I had a fun time doing writing these and honestly looking back at it, I only had eight posts. I could have sworn it felt like I was writing more but it just proves how fast the semester goes by! I honestly cannot believe the semester is almost over. Obviously there are like three more weeks left and a bunch of assignments and projects due but it's all coming to an end. Pretty exciting. Honestly, I have nothing else to really post here. My last post I did was basically what a "last" post would look like. I guess I could rehash. Ok I'm gonna be real for a moment, I don't have to do this post but it feels better to provide an ending to this little experiment than just stop. And you get extra credit if you have more than eight blog posts. Ok, I actually took a quick little break...

Semester is Almost Over...

So this week, I'm somewhat at a loss on what to write about. I know I did a similar post where I rehashed what I'm excited for this year and expectations but I figure now is a good time because the semester is nearing an end and it is going to come fast! This semester I took a big risk by taking a Japanese class. I'm really proud of my decision and I will probably go into more detail once the semester is over where I can give my full thoughts. It is not an easy class and I doubt myself sometimes but I always end up proving myself wrong. The class is three days a week from 5:30 to 7:00 so I was initially skeptical because I've never had an evening class and one that lasted that long. I thought it would be harder but my sensei is awesome and really helpful. I am definitely considering continuing to study it because I need to take some extra classes to fill my credit hours up. In my eyes, there is nothing about taking the classes. It is so cool to learn another languag...

My Trip to Google Ann Arbor

Image
Google Ann Arbor hosted a tour for EMU students this last Friday, March 8th. It was led by three EMU alumnis, Eric Wortman, Angelina Miller and Ehab Shalabi. They were awesome and super friendly. With this post, I want to summarize my visit there and give some thoughts on the Google experience. First off, it was so visually pleasing there. They had a cafe that had amazing smelling food. Everything was so organized, clean, modern. I do not have a photo that could describe what the environment was like. One of the first things you say walking in was purple balloons in honor of International Women's Day which was awesome. There was less than the expected 60 students there, as there was a lot of seats open. From 9:30 till 11 there short 15-30 minute spotlights where different employees came and spoke to us about the different aspects of Google. Everyone who spoke was friendly and realistic about what it takes to get a job at Google. Lauren Bennett, who does the recruiting, wa...

Pokemon Sword & Shield Annoucement

Image
Are we excited!!! What a big moment for Nintendo, Game Freak and Pokemon fans. This has been a long time coming, and has certainly lived up to the hype. The game looks gorgeous and we got some amazing starter Pokemon. This will be the prettiest Pokemon game when it comes out and it's gonna be big. The first main series Pokemon game on a console and in HD? Pokemon Sword and Shield have a lot to live up to and I have 120% confidence that Nintendo and Game Freak will deliver. Let's dive in. Starters. So cute. After browsing the internet for my all my years I am glad to find people who share the same passionate opinions about starters in this game. Please, please, please Game Freak, make Scorbunny's final evolution not a total let down. I'm looking at you every fire starter after Blaziken. Sobble and Grookey are absolutely adorable too and I am excited to see how their final evolution will look. From what else was in the trailer, the game looks beau...

A Review: Kirby Super Star

Image
Hey! Time to do a throwback.  Kirby Super Star  is one of my favorite games... EVER. Definitely right up there with Pokemon Diamond & Pearl  (although Platinum  is the better overall game) and  ESIV: Oblivion.  I have a lot of memories with this game, and all good memories. What holds this game up for me is that when playing it 10 years later, I still get that excited feeling I had when I first played as a kid. Now before I do my best attempt at a review, I need to just give my brief history playing it. My cousin and I would always play it at my grandpa's house during the summer and winter breaks growing up. Since it was a two player game, I would always play Kirby and she would always play the "helper." We would venture through the different levels, enjoy the music, use our little growing brain to figure out the (relatively) simple puzzles. It was a lot of fun. Nintendo remade it for DS with just slightly upgraded graphics ...

What I'm Excited for in 2019 (Part 2)

Image
So two weeks ago I posted "What I'm Excited for in 2019 (Part 1)," and it basically turned into me raving about the new Animal Crossing game hopefully  coming out this year. Then last week I was stressed and just had to vent in a blog post. This week, I am going to continue to try writing about my hopes for 2019. To start off, I just want to recap that the the RuPaul's   Drag Race All Stars  season 4 finale aired on Friday. Now, I have no self control so I was all over the r/SpoiledDragRace subreddit. The finale actually turned out to be shocking because all the tea said that * SPOILERS* they did not film a double crowning. But it turns out... they kinda did? It was this really sloppy iMovie disaster edit that just combined the two solo wins of Trinity and Monet together. I did not like it. Still unsure if they planned a solo win but then after backlash about how all the All Stars  winners are white, they decided to do a double crowning so finally a queen of color...

One Month Into the Semester

Image
Ok so, I would have loved to do a regular blog, but I just can't. I am not in a good place right now to write about whatever interests me. I'm stressed, I can't think, and I'm dreading my next assignments for a few classes. Next week, there are a couple topics I can write about so I'm excited for that but this week has been rough. There is nothing I really want to talk about except my thoughts about this semester so far. The highs and the lows of course. Shall we get started? I do not want this to come across as ranty but who knows where I will go in this post. To start off, at the time of writing this I'm just in an anxious but also like an "over it" mood. I have to take a journalism class as part of the PR major. I understand journalism and PR are different but my anxiety is through the roof when it comes to that journalism class. If I could drop it right now, I would. The assignments, I dread. Interviewing people for the assignments fills me with ...
